Billy Johnson, 63 of Tifton, Georgia passed away on December 21, 2021 at his home after living a quiet and humble life.
He was born in Ashburn, Georgia, on August 31, 1958 son of the late T.C. and Mamie Johnson. He is survived by his daughter Kimbaya Hampton and two grandchildren Kimaaj & Iluv Graddic, 13 sisters: Bernice O’Neal, Joyce Jackson, Fannie Johnson, Judy Holley, Diane Garmon, Irene Johnson, Helen Johnson, Carolyn Prince (brother –in-law, Robert Prince), Vivian Johnson, Dr. Sabrina Johnson-Nixon (brother-in-law, Richard B. Nixon Jr.), Sharon Johnson, Paulette Johnson and Carolyn Dawson. He is survived by 7 brothers: T.C. Johnson, Johnnie Johnson (sister-in-law, Angela Johnson), Joesph Johnson, Israel Johnson (sister-in-law, Tabitha Johnson) ,Donnie, Ronnie and Anthony Brown and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. One sister precedes him in death, Sadie Johnson.
Billy graduated from Turner County High School in 1976. He was a star basket ball player with the Turner County Rebels. He loved the game of basketball and played it as a hobby throughout his adult life. After living and working briefly in his hometown, Billy moved to Tifton, Georgia where he joined the employment team of Plymouth, Chrysler & Dodge Company. He retired after 40 years of service. During the last years of his life, Billy lived a humbled, peaceful life surrounded by family and friends.
